We have divided our target audience into ‘aspiring (to be professional)’ and competitive ‘non-professional’ tennis players from all ages and backgrounds. Therefore we are looking to appeal to both demographics accordingly though targeted and relevant marketing.
In the current climate in South Africa, organisations such as TSA have made raising the profile of tennis in South Africa a top priority. In order to achieve this, they have set themselves goals to approach all levels of tennis, building a culture of collaboration with various networks, bringing out natural talent across all races (thus highlighting the less known pockets of South Africa) and lastly communicating stories of development and transformation a lot better. One League is looking to demonstrate synergy in terms of objectives so that the platform gains recognition and inspires people to get involved with tennis. Embedded within the app are leagues which will be privately sponsored, creating a platform for young talent to get noticed without the financial barriers that are currently in place for other tournaments. Regarding the latter demographic, One League’s aim is to also appeal to competitive ‘non professional’ tennis players by working closely with local tennis clubs. By offering visibility on the platform, more usage of their courts (generating higher revenue), personalised leagues and a strategy to attract new younger members One League is aiming to use clubs as an additional means to drive downloads.
